MY Schedule

Depending on when you arrive and what's going on during the week, the schedule can vary.  This is a brief summary of mine.

Sunday

• 9:30a - Walked out of the Addis airport and taken to guesthouse.  Unpacked and tried to sleep.
• 12:00p - Lunch at the guesthouse
• 1:00p - Driven to care center.  My toddler was sleeping so I played with the babies.
• 3:00p - Son was sort of awake.  Nannies dressed him for me and let me play with him.
• 6:00p- Driven back to guesthouse with son for supper and sleep.

Monday

• Morning - went to care center
• Afternoon- visited AHOPE
• Evening - went out to a Rotary International Meeting

Tuesday

• Morning- stayed at guesthouse
• Afternoon - Went to embassy, Tesfaye's friends' shop, Hilton to confirm airline tickets (I forgot to change money there.  DON'T forget to change money!)
• Evening - took son back to care center (he needed an injection).  He stayed there for the night since we were going South the next morning.

Wednesday

• 8am - Drivers for the trip south came to guesthouse, dropped other mom's child at care center, said Hi to my son and went to the bank.
• 9:45 am-finally leaving Addis (avoid the bank if possible) to visit son's family
• late afternoon - stopped at Hossana foster care center to pick up translator and drove to Shinshicho to visit my son's family
• Evening - looked for a local hotel, ended up in Arboro for the night, went out to dinner and another shop for coffee

Thursday

• 6am-traveled to Durame area (Another Mom and I shared the trip) to visit family
• late morning - returned to Addis
• early evening - stopped at shops on the Passa (?)
• 6:00 ish - arrived at guesthouse
• 7:30p - went out to the Crown Hotel for dinner and to watch dancing, back to the guesthouse for a late night of laughing and reviewing photos

Friday

• Morning - Taken to the hospital gift shop, picked up toddlers and went to the Lion's Zoo, back to care center
• Afternoon - Started packing, went to the school for the goodbye ceremony
• Evening - after supper, headed to the airport at 8:00pm
• Midnight - Flight took off for DC.

THIS TRIP WAS MUCH TOO SHORT!!  DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID.  YOU SHOULD STAY AT LEAST A FULL WEEK.
