Guesthouse-Care Center Walk
Most of the time I was able to get a ride from the Guesthouse to the Care Center and back. However, a few of the times, it was just more convenient to walk than to wait for a ride.
The two places are about 3/4 of mile apart. Since I have no concept of distance, that could actually mean they are anywhere from 1/3 to 1 1/2 miles apart. The primary roads between them (only 2 turns) are paved. But the road can get crowded at times. With enough honking and vehicular speed, even the most resolute pedestrians get onto the shoulder. The shoulder is pretty rough in parts and may be dotted with an array of farm animals.

Strollers could work, but the pusher needs to be prepared for pushing on the bumpy shoulder of the road.
The roads are lined with small shops on either side. They sell everything from convenience groceries like Nido powdered milk and fruit to cell phone cards to music cassettes.
The last side road to the Care Center is a red rock/large gravel type of surface.
From the Guesthouse to the Care Center it is almost all downhill. Keep that in mind for the return, because at 4:30pm in the hot afternoon when you are tired, uphill is a LOT harder to do.
The Orthodox Church under construction seemed to be my beacon. Once I got to it, I was "almost home."
The kids' school is between the two facilities, but much closer to the Guesthouse. It is down an alley type of road about 50 yards.
I felt comfortable walking the road. A few people shouted at us, but the words did not seem malicious. Some of the off-duty nannies even ran up to us to greet "their" babies.
